Dwayne Johnson pumps up to play Hercules

Nine headed dragon-slaying muscles don't just magically appear with a little prancercise and a few bowls of Wheaties.

That seems to be the lesson Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson would like his followers to take away this week from his Twitter feed, which currently abounds with photos of the diet and exercise regimen that's getting the already huge WWE alum even more ginormous for his starring role in "Hercules: The Thracian Wars."

Example A, from the on-set workout trailer: This one, according to The Rock, is a "one-legged squat lunge." Don't try this at home unless the one leg you're lunging is, like his, the size of a studio apartment in Manhattan.

TwitterQuestion: What do mythological heroes eat? Answer: "7 meals a day (+ 1 shake)." Oh, look. That fills an entire refrigerator:
More deets on what The Rock is cooking -- -- plus some Nemean lion humor -- came courtesy of this tweet: "My current 22 week diet for the role of HERCULES. Cardio & iron before going to set. (Lion blood is optional)."
TwitterAnd no, the lion didn't rough up Hercules' arms. It was apparently something much cheesier: "Asked how I got my shoulder slice scars. From a satisfied woman w/ long ass nails."
TwitterEven Hercules' bod could use a little mythological beast-fighting help ... in the form of giant, bloody, fang-laden bones:

"Hercules: The Thracian Wars" hits theaters next July.
Hmmmmmm, The Rock is cooking ........
