Twinkind wants to print your family in 3D
Say hello to the family portrait of the future - create 3D-printed lifelike figurines
A company want to make 3D sculptures as common as a family portrait.Hamburg-based Twinkind can create 3D-printed lifelike photo figurines just by scanning a person "faster than the blink of an eye", just like in photography.
Previous approaches have seen subjects having to stand still for up to 20 minutes for computer software to map out their bodies.

The company say they can scan virtually anyone, including babies, children, dogs or cats and plan to set up shops in major cities around the world.

Twinkind's services could see mini-me scale models of loved ones adorning mantelpieces rather than traditional family pictures.

The cutting-edge process sees the subject standing in the middle of a specialised array of cameras. The system takes almost a whole room and measures 4.5m in diameter.
A scan is taken and when the customer is happy with their pose or expression the post production and moulding process can begin. The final models are so detailed they capture the proportions of your body and every crease in your clothing.

The figures are made using an eco-friendly material called high-performance composite. A state-of-the-art printer creates the objects from a white powder which is laid out layer by layer and solidified by multiple jets working on one print session for hours.
The company charge based on the scale of the figurine, with prices starting from €225 (USD $300) for a 15cm model, and going up to €1290 (USD $1715) for 35cm.
There are seven different scales to choose from. Heights are available from around 15cm to around 35cm (depending on the scale you choose).

Twinkind state that the proportions of your body will be entirely maintained, from your outline to the smallest drape of your clothes.

They also welcome even your Bingo, hehehehehehehehe!
